Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. It is widely believed that she was the one who starting the modern research into the study of eyewitness memory, as well as the use of children's victims as witnesses in the legal realm. Professor Goodman regularly publishes her work and has been awarded numerous grants, and has been awarded numerous national and international awards. She has consulted with numerous organizations and government officials across the globe on policy and studies on children who are victims of the justice system. She works as a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center, formerly The Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a former member of a variety of professional organizations, such as The Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) She is also a founding members of the American professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy and Child Development as well as Practice Division of the American Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
