Anika Noni, an American actor and singer. Most famously, she is the vocalist of Tiana In The Princess and the Frog, the one and only African American Disney Princess. Disney named her a Legend in the year 2011. Rose starred as Lorrell Robinson in the Academy Award-winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Noni Rose (born September 6 1972) is an American actress and singer. The most famous role she has played is as Tiana the Disney's first African American princess, in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legends featured her as one of them in 2011. She was also recognized for her role as a character in Dreamgirls (2006) in which she won the Academy Award for Best Picture. On the Starz show Power she played the role of LaVerne Jukebox Ganner. Her other notable roles include her theatre performances, specifically due to her roles in the lead role of Emmie Thibodeaux and as Emmie in the Broadway performance of Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Musical. Also, she starred as Beneatha Younger in the Broadway adaptation of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) for which she received nominations for the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a play.
